Sheet Metal Design

Industrial Drains (2015)

Working on these hefty industrial drains was a real challenge. The customer was an international housing development firm that had a major construction on hold in Rotterdam because the previously ordered drains could not be installed on-site. Our job was to reinterpret the architectural drawings and come up with an easy-to-manufacture design that could be built quickly in the workshop and installed on-site effortlessly. As the building construction was on hold, the time pressure was enormous. Therefore, the 3D modelling, the virtual test fit, the technical drawings, and the documentation had to be done in the shortest time possible. Moreover, the products had to be bulletproof because we could not access the construction site to deal with unforeseen problems. The project was a success and we ended up manufacturing thousands of these vast industrial drains in just a few months.

Workshop Furniture (2015)

The first few examples of these sheet metal workshop carts were designed to fill out production downtime. Commissioned by the company’s own blacksmiths at the beginning, but distributed nationwide later on. Thanks to their design, these products required minimal hands-on processing through manufacturing. Consequently, they were manufactured and sold cheaply and became a successful product of the company.
